Muse

Muse is an inspired addition to Noosa dining, and its décor and menu would fit in with most cityscapes. The ambience is luxe but not overblown: linen-draped tables, timber fittings and a mix of white tub chairs and a plush banquette on the ground floor. For a great people-watching perch that catches the summer breezes, book a table on the upstairs deck. Skilled hands are busy in the kitchen: plump house-made gnocchi with tender braised lamb and minted peas add up to cosiness in a bowl; ditto a crisp-skinned quail with Gorgonzola-laced polenta and balsamic pears. The wine list has breadth and depth, and you’ll easily find a drop to match whatever you choose next, be it rabbit with a mushroom truffled farce, or Byron Bay pork on a bed of Puy lentils. Banoffee pie beckons, if you’re naughty, but the rhubarb tarte Tatin and cinnamon ice-cream is an equally good choice.
