The Big Appleberry
One of the signature drinks of Match, a UK-based group that recently set up an outpost on Little Lonsdale Street in Melbourne, The Big Appleberry was created by famed bartender Dale DeGroff and is the pick of the summer for Match Bar & Grill’s Melbourne senior bartender, Lois McKenzie.

Ingredients

  • 3 blackberries
  • 2 raspberries
  • 2 large red seedless grapes
  • 60 ml cloudy apple juice
  • 45 ml Cognac
  • 10 ml lemon juice, or to taste
  • 1 tsp caster sugar
  • To serve: blackberries or raspberries and apple slices

    Crush berries and grapes with a muddler or wooden spoon in a cocktail shaker or bar glass. Add remaining ingredients, then half fill the shaker with ice, shake well and strain into a tall glass filled with ice. Garnish with berries and apple slices and serve.
